Yongnuo 50mm F1.8
I purchased the Yongnuo 50mm F1.8 lens on Amazon back in March for $48. My initial impressions can be found below
The Yongnuo 50mm lens is basically a copy of the Canon 50mm F1.8 lens. However, the Yongnuo 50mm is about $75 cheaper. For the price, I think the quality of this lens is superb.
After I uploaded the above video, I used the Yongnuo 50mm F1.8 to capture some images for a Dog Rescue foundation. My wife and I rescued two dogs from Korea through the Hope for Donghae Paws Foundation. This group rescues dogs in Korea, often from the meat trade, and through their network of volunteers brings the dogs to loving homes in the U.S. After our wedding trip last August, my wife and I brought back 4 dogs to families in the DC, MD, VA region. Every year the HDP group has a reunion and I was asked to capture some images during this year’s reunion. Below is a gallery of some of the images I captured with the Yongnuo 50mm. I’m by no means a professional photographer and this was not a paid gig, but the Yongnuo 50mm is definitely a capable lens for my purposes. In the below images you can see some chromatic aberrations, but for your everyday hobbyist this lens is ideal.
